Diabetes Exercise and Sports Association-Bay Area Meetup
|
Meet other local diabetics and those who care for and about them. Gather and offer support, medical and nutritional advice, as well as participating in exercise and sports activities around the Bay Area. We are a local chapter of a national organization (http://www.diabet... ). We sponsor educational and fitness events throughout the year. We welcome people with diabetes, their family, friends, medical and fitness and exercise professionals to participate in all of our activities. Our goal -- to promote exercise and sporting events as part of your diabetes management. Learn how activities can improve diabetes control, alleviate concomitant symptoms (e.g. high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, etc.), and show the world that there is no reason that diabetes should EVER keep you from full participation in life! All diabetics welcome - type 1, type 2, gestational, other categories of diabetes, as well as parents of diabetic children (all ages), siblings, other relatives, etc. Your ideas for programs are strongly encouraged.
